It’s a great day in the neighborhood!
It is with pleasure that I write this article for the Parkside Journal.
I am cautious but optimistic these days about the future for the East Parkside
Neighborhood and for the residents who currently live here and who want to continue living here in particular. It feels so good. It feels like a good time to “Live in the Parksides!”
Seriously, my name is Netrisa Takesha P. Dockery, and so many beautiful and exciting things are happening and coming to East and West Parkside neighborhoods! Stay tuned. Stay alert. Don’t miss a thing! Don’t go to sleep on this. As we know, we already have beautiful neighborhoods… where carpets upon carpets of lush green grass rolls alongside concrete urban sidewalks as 100-year old trees majestically look on. I love my neighborhood… East Parkside.
I’m a proud resident of East Parkside and now I’m also a Project Manager with the Fairmount Park Conservancy. I am overseeing FPC’s “Park use Survey”, that is currently going on, in the East Parkside and the Cobbs Creek Neighborhoods. I enjoy and choose to work for an organization that promotes more open spaces, for everyone. I also enjoy getting to mentor people from and where I live.
As you may know, East Parkside is about to get even better and more beautiful with the improvements coming our way. Phase1willbeginin Spring 2016 along Parkside Avenue with new benches, gardens and safer crosswalks. Later in 2016 we will see the sad little playground next to Kelly Pool transformed into a magical, summertime water wonderland, especially for the children. It does double duty, turning into an ice- skating rink in the winter. These are just a few of the upcoming projects Fairmount Park Conservancy has for the park and we want your opinions. FPC really does care and they want you to know they hear and value you. I, along with my amazing team of Specialists, want to inform all East Parkside Residents that a Survey is coming your way… It’s a good one!
It takes just 10-15 minutes to complete at your front door, with one of our trained, I.D. wearing Specialists. My team of Data Specialists will be knocking on doors in our East Parkside neighborhood and we would love for you to participate in the survey. Residents who complete the survey will receive a small gift.
We want to hear from you! So please be on the lookout for us in our green ‘Park Champion’ t-shirts. We will be knocking on your door soon!
